Did you know that the “Big Five” are the largest animals we can encounter in Africa? The name actually comes from ancient times, when brave hunters set out on adventurous expeditions into the wilderness on foot, and the animals of the Big Five were considered the most valuable hunting trophies. Some of them were difficult to find, such as the leopard, while others meant almost certain death for an inexperienced hunter.
The Big Five include the lion, the leopard, the elephant, the black rhinoceros (which in English is called the black rhino), and the buffalo.
